Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, who is an actress as well as a producer, director and playwright, teacher, as well as Director of Drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Her father hails from Britain, while her mother is the "Turkish ex-pat from Cyprus who is now living in England."
