Zoe Saldana is the child of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Nazario. Zoe was born in Passaic (New Jersey) on June 19th, 1978. She was born in New Jersey, Passaic to Aridio and Asalia Nazario. Saldana. Her mother is from Puerto Rico as is her father, Dominican. Her family relocated from Queens, NY and to the Dominican Republic when she was 10-years-old; they stayed in the Dominican Republic for 7 years. Zoe's love for dancing was spurred by the time they lived in the Dominican Republic. Zoe started her dance education at ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy.
